Travelling to Jaddah after performing the minor pilgrimage, ‘umrah, of the additional, tamat-tu’, pilgrimage

Question
After performing ‘umrah for my tamat-tu’ pilgrimage I left for Jaddah. I returned to Makkah on the eighth of Th-l-Hijjah and wore the garments for pilgrimage, ihraam. Is my ‘umrah for my tamat-tu’ pilgrimage considered to be disconnected? Am I sinful for travelling, since I only wanted to visit my relatives?
Answer

If you are a resident of Jaddah and after performing the ‘umrah for your tamat-tu’ pilgrimage you returned home, it is disconnected. In that case you have to wear the ihraam from Jaddah and your pilgrimage is of the singular type. If you are not a resident of Jaddah and you went to Jaddah after performing your ‘umrah, you have to wear ihraam from Makkah and your tamat-tu’ pilgrimage remains intact. There is no harm in travelling between the ‘umrah and the pilgrimage because it is temporary and has no legal bearings. This is not your country of residence. However, if you were to perform the ‘umrah for your tamat-tu’ pilgrimage and leave the boundaries of pilgrimage, such as going to Madeenah, you become a pilgrim from Madeenah, but you still remain upon your tamat-tu’ pilgrimage. The basic ruling is that one should remain in Makkah after performing ‘umrah. However, if one is required to travel and does not return to his country then his tamat-tu’ pilgrimage remains intact.
