Bathing: A person who has a wet-dream and did not realize until a day had passed

Question
If a person had a wet dream and did not realize until a complete day had passed, must he repeat the prayers of that day?
Answer

If a person has a wet dream and the signs of it were not clear to him such as it was dark and he changed his clothes or pants and then it later became clear to him that he had a wet dream such as finding marks on his clothes indicating a wet dream, he must take a bath and repeat all the prayers he made in that state. Likewise, if he were to have a wet dream and forgot, and remembered later on, then he must repeat all the prayers he prayed in that state. Scholars have said that forgetfulness renders what has happened as non-existent, and it does not render non-existence into existence, and hence washing is not needed. Hence, this incident of forgetfulness does not render the non-existent into existence. However, let us suppose he saw wetness and took a bath on account of it and then it became clear to him that bathing was not obligatory, we say: ‘Forgetfulness renders the existence, which is the bathing, in the status of non-existent’ which is contrary to the first case.
