The companions strove to fulfill their responsibility by performing their obligations

Asmaa’ bint ‘Umays (may Allaah’s Pleasure be upon her) went out to perform pilgrimage with the Prophet ﷺ while she was about to give birth and she then gave birth some miles later. This is proof for the companions’ (may Allaah’s Pleasure be upon them) eagerness and striving in order to fulfill their responsibility by performing their obligations. Had Asmaa’ (may Allaah’s Pleasure be upon her) become delayed because of the pregnancy, she would have missed this opportunity. One would think that, more than likely, her contractions would have already begun before she set out from her house. From this, we can deduce how some people are casual today, saying, ‘Surely, as soon as it is clear the woman is pregnant, she should not perform pilgrimage this year.’ out of fear for the pregnancy. How is that so when this is Asmaa’ bint ‘Umays (may Allaah’s Pleasure be upon her), wife of the affirmer Abu Bakr , the best person in this Nation after its Prophet ﷺ, and she went out and gave birth some miles later?!
