Your tongue should be moist with the Remembrance of Allaah

The Prophet ﷺ said,

Your tongue should be moist with the Remembrance of Allaah.
(Tirmithy, 3375, Ibn Maajah, 3793, and Ahmad, 17,680)

A person who preoccupies his time with the Remembrance of Allaah  and enjoying this, will have ease of mind and will not tire of the long time spent. This is because the time was spent in an act of worship. The vegetation of Allaah’s Garden, jannah, is the eternal good actions performed in this world. A person may say, ‘Subhaana-llaah, wa-l-hamdu lillaah, wa laa ilaaha illa-llaah, wa-llaahu akbar! (All praise be to Allaah! There is none of worship but Allaah! Allaah is greatest!),’ as has been reported in the authentic hadeeth that Ibraheem (may Allaah’s Peace be upon him) said,

“”O Muhammad! Send my Peace salutations to your Nation, and tell them that, ion surely, jannah has a good soil and delicious water, and it has plains, and its vegetation is,       Subhaana-llaah, wa-l-hamdu lillaah, wa laa ilaaha illa-llaah, wa-llaahu akbar!” (Tirmithy, 3462, and Ttabaraany in Al-Awsatt, 4170)

These are great rewards which do not cost a person anything. Let us reflect upon the fact that, Subhaana-llaah, wa bi-hamdih! (All Praise be to Allaah!) a 100 times is said in one and half minutes, and,

“Any person who says, Subhaana-llaah, wa bhi-hamdih!, 100 times, their sins would be forgiven even if they were as much as there is froth on the sea!”,

and the hadeeth is agreed upon (Bukhaary, 6405, and Muslim, 2691). A person should not say that this is a great reward for an action so small. Allaah’s Favor is vast and He gives it to whom He wills, and Allaah multiplies rewards to whom He wills among His slaves, up to 700-fold, and Allaah’s Favor is greater still. Thus, the Prophet ﷺ said,

There is no Muslim upon the earth who supplicates to Allaah for anything without Allaah giving the person it, or He removes an equivalent evil from the person, as long as they do not supplicate for a sin or breaking family ties.

A man from among the people then said, ‘Then we should do more?’ The Prophet said,

Then Allaah will still give more!” (Tirmithy, 3573, and Ahmad, 11,133)
