Selling devices that can be used for prohibitions

Question
What is the ruling of selling devices that can be used for both permissible and prohibited reasons, such as computers, mobiles phones etc.?
Answer

The underlining principle for devices that can be used for both things is that it is permissible, and that a person should assume the best about another Muslim, and that he would use it for permissible reasons. However, if he believes that this person will use the device for prohibited reasons then he should not sell it to him. Rather, he should advise him. If he promises not to use it for haram reasons, only then can you sell it to him.
