The whole of life is lessons and morals. How many people are there who have an accident and lose consciousness, and yet one hears them recite Qur’aan clearly and vividly as if they were reciting it when healthy. In contrast, another unconscious person may repeat, ‘May Allaah curse you, so-and-so!,’ ‘Where are you, cursed one?,’ or similar cursing and ill-talk. Some of these occurrences I have seen myself. A person who is accustomed to an action at times of ease, words expressing it will appear on is tongue at times of unease and hardship. This is because the first instance given was a person who was accustomed to reciting Qur’aan and the second to cursing and swearing. We ask Allaah to be safeguarded and free from such actions. Like the proverb says, “What goes around, comes around!” There was a person who was used to sitting in the mosque after dawn prayer until sunrise for 60 years, so his end was to die while a copy of the Qur’aan was in his lap and he was reciting the Qur’aan awaiting sunrise! A person dies upon that which he has lived and is accustomed to, and he is resurrected upon that which he has died.
جَزَآءًۭ وِفَاقًا
“An appropriate recompense.” (AN-Naba’ 26)
وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّـٰمٍۢ لِّلْعَبِيد
“… and your Lord is not ever unjust to [His] slaves.” (Fuss-ssilat 46)
