What is the ruling of sleeping on the stomach?

When a person makes a promise with the intention of fulfilling it, but he is unable to do so, does he resemble the hypocrites in breaking promises?

I'm confused regarding the views of some scholars who have said that specifying particular time or a number for an act of worship is an innovation. It is to be noted that the profit of the bank in this is over half of the price they paid for it.
